What is circulation

Circulation means that the swimming pool water is continuously pumped through a water treatment installation, purified by the installation and partially refreshed. It ensures that disinfectants are evenly distributed throughout the water and that dirt and impurities are continuously removed. So water circulation basically helps maintain water quality and keep swimmers safe.
 

The importance of circulation

Water flow is essential for several reasons:

• Flow keeps the purification process going as the water passes through the installation.
• Flowing water is less likely to attract bacteria, fungi and algae than stagnant water; in other words, flowing water is cleaner in principle.
• Circulation results in a better distribution of disinfectants in the pool water.
• Circulation ensures that the water warms up faster.

The conditions of circulation

Creating the right water circulation pattern in a swimming pool depends on several factors. Some examples:

• Pool water must always move effectively through the swimming pool. This movement pattern can be influenced by the position of inlets and outlets.
• The total circulation time - the time it takes for the total volume of swimming pool water to pass through the filtration system - depends on the volume in the pool and the water contaminant load.
• Dead zones with standing water should be avoided to ensure that the disinfectant can spread throughout the water mass and to avoid accumulations of contaminants.
